Meet our Instructor
Kathy Nate
Kathy has been a full time ballroom dance instructor for over 35 years. She began her career at age 19 at Arthur Murray's dance studio. Within the first two years of her career, she was awarded top teacher within a six state region. Her wide range of accomplishments include judging and teaching at national dance events, coaching competition couples, and writing for dance publications. She has organized and done choreography for several dance troupes. She has performed on stage and television. She not only brings her expertise of ballroom to the Saint Joseph, Michigan area, but also her knowledge and passion for other styles of dancing such as country, nightclub, Latin, and swing. She strongly believes that to get the most out of dancing one needs to explore all genres as she has done.. In this manner, no matter where you go or what style of music is being played you can hit the floor and join in on the fun. Hence, her motto "Don't sit this one out, let's dance"
Kathy is part owner of Michiana Dance studio in Mishawaka, Indiana. She is available for private and small group lessons. Wedding specials are available throughout the year as are gift certificates at her studio.
